![]() ![]() We drew the central 700-seat Concert Hall up through the heart of the structure, where it soars to a height of 60 feet. The “Creative Commons,” a new signature outdoor gathering space, connects to the existing Moudy Center for the Fine Arts.Īrchitecturally, our palette drew on TCU’s signature buff brick and limestone accents, while distinguishing the building through its form. To activate the site, our design incorporates a north-facing, glass-enclosed lobby which opens onto an expansive covered porch. We were challenged to transform a quiet corner of parking lots at the campus edge into a defined precinct and gateway for visitors. A planned second phase will further consolidate performance, administrative, teaching, and practice spaces for the SOM. Construction will begin in Spring 2018, with classes and performances set to commence in Fall 2020. Bora’s School of Music (SOM) building fulfills a twenty-year vision for Texas Christian University, anchoring a new Arts Precinct by coalescing scattered music facilities into a single, iconic campus destination. ![]()
